DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Music Department at UC Santa Cruz offers two undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Music (B.M.). The B.A. degree offers a uniquely diverse curriculum, with the option of completing a concentration in either Contemporary Practices, Global Musics, or Western Art Music. The department also offers a masters program and two doctoral programs. There are 12 senate faculty, 45+ lecturers, and 80-100 curricular performances/events annually.
Under general supervision of Senior Lead Staff Accompanist, uses skills as an experienced musical professional. Duties include providing accompaniment for individuals and groups in the Music Department. Scores are of moderate or average difficulty with standard repertory and little improvisation.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $24.26 - $27.63 / hourly. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience. Under California law, the University of California, Santa Cruz is required to post a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The salary shown above is the budgeted amount the University reasonably expects to pay and the salary extended should not exceed this posted amount.

JOB DUTIES
75% -Accompany groups or individuals in classes, studios or rehearsals, auditions, and public performances.
15% - Works and collaborates with director to achieve curricular objectives as needed.
10% - Performs scores of moderate or average difficulty with standard repertory and little improvisation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Good technical knowledge/skills in music and demonstrated musical expertise.
Interpersonal communication skills and abilities to work well with students.
Good organization skills.
Demonstrated commitment to embracing diversity in all its forms and striving for an inclusive community that fosters an open, enlightened, and productive environment.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
