Job Summary: The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist will support clients in navigating insurance enrollment through the health insurance exchange Marketplace, Medicaid and Medicare
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Functions as the primary consultant in health insurance eligibility and enrollment by demonstrating and maintaining expertise in eligibility and enrollment rules and procedures, understanding the range of qualified health plan options and insurance affordability programs, serving the needs of underserved and vulnerable populations, and complying with privacy and security standards. Will obtain Certified Application Counselor credential.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Sound working knowledge of human services. General knowledge of demographic factors of the community served. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability and willingness to continuously follow-up on outstanding issues. Must be able to communicate clearly and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Must have ability to work successfully with diverse populations. Must have ability to maintain familiarity with federal and state regulations that impact Outreach and Enrollment. Must be able to analyze financials, socio-economic and taxable household materials quickly and accurately. Must have ability to take responsibility for continuously learning new programs and concepts.
Minimum Education and Experience – Bachelor's degree in a human services field such as social work, counseling, psychology, special education, deaf education, rehabilitation counseling or marriage and family therapy from an appropriately accredited institution; bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in counseling or in a related human services field which provides experience in techniques of counseling, casework, group work, or community organization, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
