Job Description An exciting opportunity for a licensed clinician to join a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team. As part of our patient care team, this clinician will serve as a first point of contact for students seeking services at Behavioral Medicine. An ideal candidate would demonstrate strong skills in risk assessment and disposition planning and will provide immediate referral to one of three tracks of clinical care. The position requires strong organizational and administrative skills that will be needed to document and track all patient encounters.
This is a 32 hour per week and 10 Month position.
Provide brief assessment of students presenting or calling for intake appointments at the counseling center.
Assess the short and long-term needs of clients and make a disposition plan based on those needs which may include a referral to the community or campus resources, scheduling an intake appointment with a provider in our department or a referral to our in-house triage if safety concerns are evident.
Serve on rotation to cover daytime triage and after-hour on call responsibilities.
Other clinical duties as needed.
Administrative/Collaborative Responsibilities
Maintain documentation of all patient encounters in accordance with department standards.
Attend staff meetings, clinical services meetings, and department trainings/in-service meetings.
Collaborate actively with colleagues.
Keep timely and thorough documentation utilizing the electronic medical record system.
Maintain continuing education as per licensure requirements.
Observe/comply with university and Student Health Services policies and procedures.
Other administrative duties as needed.
Required Skills
Master's degree or Doctorate in Social Work, Counseling/Clinical Psychology, or related mental health field.
Must be licensed or license eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Five to eight years of experience required.
Desired Qualifications
Experience conducting risk assessment and disposition planning.
Minimum of three years post-graduate degree work experience in a mental health setting.
Administrative and technological skills required to effectively document in an Electronic Health Record.
Ability to work in a fast- paced, team setting.
Skilled in working well under pressure to prioritize and manage multiple clinical situations and to coordinate these efforts as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate awareness, knowledge, and skills to interact effectively with persons representing a wide range of diverse backgrounds, namely socio-economic, students of color, LGBTQIA+, and international students.
Experience in college mental health, crisis assessment, brief intervention, confidentiality requirements, and referral.
