Position Summary
We are an innovative research entity looking for highly organized, detail-oriented and enthusiastic candidates to support the patient-oriented research portfolio of the Center. The VHO Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for conducting the recruitment, enrollment, follow-up and compensation activities related to a research study focused on utilization of a medication nonadherence screening tool in the breast cancer patients and clinics. We anticipate developing new studies and research directions, so ideal candidates will be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving responsibilities, workloads and work schedules.
Under the direction of the Director of Research Implementation and the study Principal Investigator, the VHO Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the daily activities of a new research study to assess the implementation (feasibility, acceptability, uptake) of a medication nonadherence screening tool in the breast cancer clinic. The study protocol involves semi-structured interviews with patients and clinicians to better understand how the questionnaire itself is understood by patients and how the adherence data should be presented to / used by clinicians. The study results will inform the design of a future hybrid I effectiveness-implementation trial studying the implementation of medication nonadherence screening in broader clinical contexts. Collaborating with a variety of institutional and Center-wide teams, as well as performing independently, the VHO will be responsible for all participant recruitment, scheduling, follow-up, compensation and data collection and entry activities. Further, the VHO will provide assistance in participant enrollment activities, administration of study questionnaires and inventory of study supplies.

Candidates should anticipate the need for flexible work hours to assist in attainment of recruitment goals and completion of study visits and focus groups successfully. Candidates may expect work hours to be scheduled between 7:00 am and 7:30 pm and occasionally on weekends, varying from week-to-week depending upon study visit and recruitment needs. Candidates should be comfortable in a team-oriented, collaborative work culture with frequent bilingual interactions in both English and Spanish with study participants, collaborating investigators, and clinic personnel.
Responsibilities
Recruiting clinicians and patients to participate in structured interviews
Scheduling clinician and patient interviews (to be conducted virtually)
Assisting the study PI in the conduct of clinician and patient interviews
Processing participant compensation using the TruCentive gift card program
Performing various data collection activities, including data entry
Opportunities to participate in data coding and interpretation if interested
Performing related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 1 year of related experience preferred.
Must speak Spanish fluently.
Research experience preferred.
Experience with research data entry and/or SPSS preferred.
Experience in varied health care and/or health care education settings preferred.
Leadership roles in academic or community settings.
Experience with the public in a service-related or occupational role preferred.
Other Requirements
Flexible hours (shifts between 7:00 am -7:30 pm and occasionally weekends) required to meet critical deadlines.
