Columbia Independent School is seeking qualified individuals to join our afterschool Program Team from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you enjoy working with children and helping to provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment where they can develop social skills, then this may be the position you’ve been searching for.
Supervise Pre-K through fifth-grade students.
Record and maintain the students' check-in and check-out times.
Supervise and guide age-appropriate activities – Assist children with games and activities designed to encourage socialization and cooperation. These include snack time, homework, reading, playtime, and arts & crafts.
Assist children in resolving conflicts as they arise.
Lead and encourage the children to clean up after themselves.
Maintain a safe and clean place and guide children to play safely and cooperatively with other students to foster a safe environment for all to spend the afternoon.
Notify the after-school coordinator, school administration, and parents or guardians about potential child behavior issues.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age
A high school diploma or GED certificate
An associate degree in childhood development or some postsecondary education preferred
Experience working with young children or as an assistant teacher is a plus.
First aid/CPR certification
