The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University (JHU).  As the nation's oldest and one of the most prestigious research universities, Johns Hopkins offers high-quality master's degrees to students in the mid-Atlantic region and online.  In addition to the online programs, AAP also offers master's degrees at its Washington, DC Center and at the Homewood campus in Baltimore, MD.  AAP has approximately 18,000 enrollments each academic year.  JHU is committed to hiring candidates who, through their teaching and service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Position Description:
The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure-track adjunct faculty to teach 473.665 Human Intelligence Operations within the MSIA program. The course will be taught fully online/asynchronously beginning Spring 2024. Candidates with online course development and teaching experience and those with experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds are of particular interest. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• An advanced degree with a master's degree at minimum
• 10-15 years of professional work experience within the relevant intelligence fields 
• Course development experience is a must.  This position requires completing a course currently under development, which will be compensated under a separate contract, and teaching the course under a new contract beginning in January 2024, spring semester.  Reach out to the program director Michael Ard at mard@jhu.edu for more details.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A terminal degree in political science, international relations, or in a relevant field.
• 1-3 years of graduate-level teaching experience
• Online teaching experience
• The background to teach a course specifically in human intelligence operations, featuring collection, counterintelligence, covert action, etc., preferably in the international arena.
