The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through Grade 12 college preparatory school of 1000 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. Berkeley Carroll seeks an experienced Security Associate to join the Campus Safety team. They will be responsible for the safety and security of the school’s students, faculty, staff and visitors. This position reports directly to the Director of Campus Safety.
General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as front entrance security presence; maintain high visibility.
Patrol and monitor indoor and outdoor facilities to ensure safety and well being of students and staff.
Assist the Emergency Response Team during drills and emergencies.
Escort students between buildings.
Make notifications related to emergencies, dangerous conditions and unusual situations
Attend special events on weekends and evenings
Screen all visitors, vendors, and contractors using a visitor management system
Answer and direct incoming calls
Monitor live stream video footage
Write incident reports of any unusual activity
Organize school bus arrival and dismissal, including tracking buses as they arrive and depart, and overseeing students as they wait to get on the bus
Handle all mail deliveries, UPS, and Fed-Ex packages
Anticipated Work Hours:
Tuesday-Friday, 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Wage rate: $20-21 /hour
Qualifications:
Impeccable customer service skills and the ability to be a proactive problem-solver
At least four years prior security guard experience, preferably in a school setting
Active NYS Security Guard License and 8-hour annual training required
