Our teachers, clinicians, and staff joined together to craft our statement of values, which we are proud to share:
Quad Prep is a kind and joyful learning community where everyone is celebrated for who they are.
We ignite students’ strengths and passions and allow for safe academic pursuit at the highest levels by learning from mistakes.
We are trustworthy and steadfast, and our high academic expectations challenge students to grow uniquely as people and in the way they learn.
We widen our students’ perspectives, giving them the tools to know themselves and find success in the future of their choosing.
We never give up on each other and are driven by the ethos of “not if, but how.”
The Quad Preparatory School is looking for a part-time porter and handyman to assist with maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety standards of the School. You'll help do whatever tasks are needed to keep the School clean, looking good, functioning properly, and safe.
When a light bulb needs to be changed, a wall or piece of furniture cleaned or repaired, a window unstuck, a shade repaired, a soap dispenser filled, a bathroom spruced up during the day, a ceiling tile replaced, an air conditioning vent opened or closed, or a coat of paint added, you're there to pitch in. You will help set up for and break down from events for groups as small as five to as large as 200 participants. You will organize the receipt of supplies, goods, and packages. And of course, your help with cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing will be extremely important - and you'll have equipment to do your job properly and safely. Occasionally you may be asked to assist our security staff to check people in and out if we are short handed. We have a collaborative environment and support each other in our roles.
Work Environment: This job operates in a school setting. The school is located on the first, fifth and sixth floors of a building with an elevator and the fourth floor in a second building. We also have a gym space located in another building. You will be moving between these locations often. While elevators are present, there are also stairs to be climbed.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active and involves standing, walking, kneeling, crouching down, climbing stairs, moving boxes, supplies, and furniture. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds or more. During fire drills, the employee will be part of the team tasked to use the stairs to go to ground level from the sixth floor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time, non-exempt position in an educational facility which is open eight hours a day. Normal hours will be 12:30pm to 5:30pm Monday through Thursday, with occasional overtime and weekend work to help cover special events.
AAP/EEO Statement: The Quad Preparatory School is based on an inclusive philosophy that does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sex, age, disability, marital status, creed, sexual orientation, familial status, citizenship, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by law in the hiring, retention, or promotion of employees; nor in determining their rank, or the compensation or fringe benefits paid them.
