Position description The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu/) and the Division of Infectious Diseases is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting Clinical Infectious Diseases physicians.
The Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health seeks Infectious Disease physicians with expertise in the care of the immunocompromised host including solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplant, as well as patients receiving chemotherapy and other immunomodulators.
UCSD performs approximately 450 solid organ transplants annually including heart, lung, liver, and kidney transplants, and is well known for excellent outcomes. Moore's Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer and performs approximately 135 stem cell transplants per year through the blood and marrow transplantation program.
The successful faculty members will join a core group of four primarily clinical faculty members and one physician-scientist and will work in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. There are opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, clinical/translational research, and teaching of trainees and students.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, or an MD/PhD in the area of Infectious Diseases or a related field.
Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates with clinical care duties must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Disease. Application Requirements
