About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Supervisor of Campus Recreation and Engagement will ensure that all safety and emergency protocols are followed. This is a temporary, part time position and is on the Oakland Campus of the Northeastern University system-remote work is not possible for this position. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation, Student Engagement.
The Program Supervisor of Campus Recreation and Engagement must attend a job orientation, complete driver training/safety certification and First Aid and CPR courses and attend an in-person planning meeting as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Assistance in planning and scheduling off-campus outdoor recreation excursions each academic semester
Contact and partner with recreation vendors and group sales departments, coordinate transportation, drive a campus owned vehicle, draft travel itineraries
Perform administrative/clerical duties
Provide line of sight supervision to all student participants for the duration of the assigned recreation excursion activity.
Help plan, organize, and facilitate campus Intramural programs and support with other CSR events as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires driving a campus-owned vehicle, attending assigned off-campus recreation excursion activities and intramural and CSR events.
The Program Supervisor of Campus Recreation and Engagement must be over the age of 21 and possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
Availability to work weekend and evening hours is expected.
Punctual, reliable, responsible, organized, team-oriented, and willing to take initiative. They must hold a current CPR/First Aid certification. An opportunity to become certified will be provided to the new hire.
Events will involve indoor and outdoor environments, walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 30lbs.
Active participation in outdoor and recreation activities is also required. This could include riding horses, climbing, hiking, open-water sports, amusement park attractions, and wearing all safety devices such as harnesses, flotation vests, suspension cords, etc.
Preference is given to those who can work the entire academic year.
This position is budgeted for $20.00-$30.00 USD hourly, rate depending on experience and skills.
