The UCLA Department of Comparative Literature is seeking an Assistant Adjunct Professor to teach one course each in the Winter and Spring 2024 quarters (January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024). We are looking for someone who can teach upper-level undergraduate courses on topics in world and comparative literatures with an emphasis on European and/or non-European literatures (including but not limited to literatures of Latin America or South Asia). Applicants should have a PhD in hand by the time of appointment (January 1, 2024).

The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 1. The salary range for this position is $74,600 - $83,100. 'Off-scale salaries', i.e. a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
