Chatham Hall is excited to begin a search for a part time head Athletic Trainer for the 2023-2024 academic year. Chatham Hall—a girls’ grades 9-12 boarding and day school in southern Virginia—has been a leader in educating girls since 1894.
Chatham Hall Athletics ensures that students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve goals in a variety of athletic opportunities that are offered. The successful candidate is one who loves facilitating learning and who is invigorated by time spent with young people. Proven experience as a coach and athletic administrator is strongly preferred.
Chatham Hall Athletics offers the following sports: field hockey, volleyball, cross country, tennis, riding, basketball, swimming and diving, soccer, golf, track and field, lacrosse and a year round riding option. Additionally, we offer these afternoon activities: dance, theater, robotics, and yoga.
Chatham Hall is in a very exciting position of carrying out the final pieces of its most recent strategic plan. At the core of that plan is the health and wellness initiative which strives to create balance in the lives of both students and adults. Aspects of Living Well at Chatham Hall include:
Moving away from AP classes in favor of our own advanced classes
Implementing a January Term beginning in the next school year
Creating a new daily schedule that should allow students and teachers time to take the deep dives as well as time for reflection to process learning

Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Athletics and Assistant Director of Athletics in ensuring the vision of Chatham Hall through its mission, values, and health and wellness program
Provide athletic training services to all team sports and activities.
Aid in the residential life program to help promote the living well initiative
Assist in Athletic supervision of athletic contests each season
Assist with social media of the athletic department
Communicate with a diverse group of students and parents
Seek professional development opportunities as they become available
Provide a fun and creative environment
Requirements
Must be certified by NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) Board of Certification.
Must be licensed by Virginia Medical Board of Medicine as an AT or be eligible for licensure.
Must have either a bachelors or masters degree in Athletic Training accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training.
Availability between 3:30 - 6:30 PM
Previous teaching and athletic training experience
