Detailed Job Description Please note-This is for anticipated openings throughout the academic year. Responsible for prevention, evaluation, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses associated with athletes involved in intercollegiate athletics.
Implement rehabilitation and treatment programs for intercollegiate athletes utilizing exercise rehabilitation and modalities (ice, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, massage). Including appropriate documentation.
Evaluate, assess, and treat injuries sustained to intercollegiate athletes. Including appropriate documentation.
Facilitate athlete referrals for care through physicians, surgeons, therapists, and specialists (including proper insurance notification and directional assistance).
Prep athletes for competition or practice through taping, bandaging, stretching, bracing, or other forms of injury risk management.
Implementation and facilitation of athletics drug and alcohol testing program. Including athlete notification, urine sample collection, documentation, and sample shipment for analysis.
Collect, compile, and facilitate athlete physical participation status forms. Including orthopedic assessment to evaluate for risk management.
Provide coverage at competitions and practices for intercollegiate athletes (sometimes for other competing institutions) to manage injury recognition, evaluation, assessment, and care. Including travel for away competitions and/or practices.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree - Athletic Training degree (may also be obtained through a master's degree program) BOC certification in Athletic Training NYS Licensure CPR/AED/First Aid 2-3 years working in athletic training NATA certified
