Department Information
Parking Operations oversees the issuance of parking permits, enforcement of parking regulations and maintenance, and funding of all or new campus parking lots and garages. Parking interacts daily with students, faculty and staff, departments, vendors, visitors, and the community as they conduct activity on the IU Bloomington campus. Job Summary
Patrols assigned areas of the IUB Campus, in all weather conditions, to enforce university parking regulations. Assists appointed Enforcement staff with other duties including, but not limited to, impounding improperly parked bikes and personal conveyances, towing improperly parked vehicles, and performing parking lot counts. Assists with the posting of signs and placing barricades in parking lots.
Assists IUB Parking Enforcement office support staff with duties, including, but not limited to, computer data entry, database management, customer service, answering telephone calls and email correspondence, dispatching, and providing support to other Parking Operations personnel via two-way radio.
Assists with necessary Booth Attendant duties in the 7th Street traffic booth, located near the IMU Circle Drive. This includes providing campus information and direction, monitoring vehicular traffic entering the inner campus area, and issuing citations for unauthorized entry. Patrols areas of campus adjacent to the booth enforcing parking regulations as needed.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University
SKILLS
Required
Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information
Understanding of Android based operating system for handheld units and tablets
Capable of learning to operate Bluetooth peripheral equipment and two-way radio system
Use of basic hand tools
Preferred
Familiarity with computers and office productivity apps, including MS Office/365 and MS Teams
Working Conditions / Demands
The person in this role must have the ability to move items up to 50 pounds. The person in this role will work in and have exposure to all types of weather conditions for extended periods of time. The person in this role must be able to move about and remain stationary for extended periods of time. This position involves driving IU vehicles on roads surrounding campus and in IU parking lots and facilities.

Advertised Salary
$15.00 per hour
Work Hours
15 to 29 hours per week.
Shift times vary based on availability and staffing needs, and hours may be flexible throughout the week to accommodate other work or class schedules.
PARKING ENFORCEMENT HOURS OF OPERATION
Academic year:
Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Fridays 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Summer:
Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Fridays 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Office hours are typically reduced during summer and semester breaks, and shifts may be adjusted or reduced based on staffing needs.
