Job Description:

The Director of the Systems Curriculum at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is an important member of the Office of Medical Education. The Director oversees the scheduling, coordination, design, and delivery of the Systems Curriculum. In this position, the Director will work with students, course leaders, and faculty to ensure the smooth delivery of the curriculum. The Director reports to the Assistant Dean for Medical Education / Director of the Pre-Clerkship Curriculum and meets regularly with the other members of Office of Medical Education to collaborate on curricular strategy and management, integration with other elements and units of the MD program, medical student performance and assessment, and continuous quality improvement endeavors. The Director will serve as the co-chair of the subcommittee on Years 1 and 2, and will also serve as a member of select curriculum committees as well as select administrative committees.

This is an 0.6 FTE administrative role. The Director will be encouraged to maintain a clinical practice at one of AMSâ™ affiliated partners if an MD/DO.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Medical degree (MD or DO) required

• At least 5 years of experience in medical education leadership (course leader, clerkship director, residency program director) and in teaching medical students required or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Familiarity with the current Systems-based Curriculum at AMS

• Qualifications for a license to practice medicine in Rhode Island if applicant holds a MD, DO, MD/PhD.
