The Perinatal Break Nurse will provide effective coverage for a variety of roles in Perinatal Services, including covering for clinical staff nurses, patient care coordinators and scrub techs as needed. Ensures effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assist in the development and implementation of plans of care for assigned patients, ensuring the coordination of care between other disciplines and support staff. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient ensuring quality continuum of care. Acts as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit.

Required Qualifications:
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Perinatal Services
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (required within 6 months of hire)
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Licenses and Certifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support(Required)
Basic Life Support(Required)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program(Required)
Registered Nurse(Required)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science, Nursing
Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
Previous experience working as a clinical lead or charge nurse
Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
Demonstrated experience scrubbing in surgical procedures
