Job Summary
Indiana University Northwest seeks qualified candidates for Assistant Coach, Men's and Women's Cross Country. Indiana University Northwest Athletics is a member of the NAIA. The position is hourly and fluctuates depending on the time of year.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Provides support in the management and administration of all aspects of the program.
Assists with all aspects of the recruitment process, including development of recruitment plans and targeting potential student-athletes.
Develops and leads strength training and conditioning programs.
Attends and leads practice as well as game planning efforts.
Provides and supervises academic support opportunities.
Breaks down film and performing analysis.
Supports in game management functions.
Develops and implements strategies for motivating and retaining student-athletes.
Coordinates fundraising events and participating in fundraising and community service projects.
Assists with the coordination of travel arrangements.
Enforces policies and procedures as outlined in the student-athlete handbook, team rules, and university student handbook.
Other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
3 years of collegiate or high school coaching experience
Experience coordinating academics/mentoring students
Preferred
Collegiate playing experience
SKILLS
Required
Knowledge of NAIA and/or NCAA compliance rules and regulations
Computer experience and working knowledge of game film editing software (i.e., HUDL, Synergy, Krossover)
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to work/travel with team early mornings and afternoons, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
