The Athletics Ticket Office intern will assist the Athletic Ticket Manager and Assistant Ticket Manager with increasing the overall visibility of Brown University Athletics through ticket sales efforts. Assist with day-to-day and game-day ticket operations at ticketed varsity athletic events.
Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).Â Â Â
All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League, ECAC and GEC rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test and maintain current First Aid and AED/CPR certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
Associateâ™s Degree required
Some prior experience in ticket sales/operations, marketing, promotions, preferred.
Strong financial accounting ability.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral communication and computer skills needed.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ability/willingness to learn new systems as required.
Â Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
Â Prior online ticket system experience preferred.
Strong customer relation skills.
Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background, Education and credit check, and MVR check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in game day preparation and execution for Menâ™s Soccer, Womenâ™s Soccer, Football, Menâ™s Basketball, Womenâ™s Basketball, Menâ™s Hockey, Menâ™s Lacrosse and Womenâ™s Lacrosse
Develop ticket sales strategies to maximize attendance and revenue for ticketed sports
Develop/maintain relationships with various local Youth Organizations and schools.
Provide friendly customer service at games and other Brown Athletic events.
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
