The Peabody Preparatory is pleased to announce an Adjunct Flute teaching position in the Winds, Brass, and Percussion Department at the Peabody Preparatory, a division of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, commencing as soon as possible.
Candidates should be experienced in teaching students of all ages and levels (beginner to advanced) as part of the Peabody Preparatory's growing Winds, Brass, and Percussion Department. Candidates should be comfortable teaching both private lessons and chamber music for instrumentalists of all ages. This position will also include teaching beginning group flute classes in our Baltimore City schools program.
Located in the heart of Baltimore's Mount Vernon Cultural District, the Peabody Institute was founded in 1857 as America's first academy of music. Today, through its degree-granting Conservatory and its community-based Preparatory school of music and dance, Peabody trains musicians and dancers of every age and at every level.
The Peabody Preparatory shares space with the Peabody Conservatory in downtown Baltimore, and has three satellite branches in the communities of Towson, Annapolis, and Howard County, MD. The Preparatory has approximately 2,000 students studying all orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, voice, dance, theory, composition, early childhood music, orchestra, chamber music, and more.

Classification: Adjunct (up to 9.5 hours of teaching per week)
Bachelor's degree in music and/or music education required. Master's degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.
