Ivy League Tutoring in Providence, Rhode Island has a part-time opening, in person, to tutor SAT and ACT test prep and academic tutoring to students in grades 6-college. We offer a great work environment with exceptional tutors who are passionate about teaching and helping students get into their top choice colleges.
You’ve learned how to ace the SAT or ACT and want to share your knowledge and experience and get paid to do it. (To teach SAT or ACT, we require our tutors to have scored between the 95th and 99th percentile on a given exam.)
You are passionate about teaching and go above and beyond to help your students reach their goal scores, so they can achieve their dream of attending their first-choice college.
You have at least two years teaching experience with high school or college students and a bachelor’s degree from a selective college. Prior SAT or ACT tutoring experience is preferred. Position will be tutoring students in grades 6 through college level.
A master’s degree is preferred. Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree.
You genuinely care about whether or not your students succeed and have patience and dedication to see them through to the finish line.
You want to be part of a community where you can make a difference in students’ lives.
You’re an excellent communicator with an ability to establish rapport with students and parents.
Our biggest need is for math and science tutors who can tutor all levels of math and high school science classes, including AP classes. Ability to tutor Spanish is a plus.
Position Type: Independent Contractor. Tutoring students in grades 6 through college level.
Work Location:In-person tutoring in Providence, Rhode Island (with occasional online tutoring from home). Please note that online only is not available.
Rate: $40/hour for academic tutoring; $50/hour for SAT/ACT test prep
Hours: Flexible hours.5 to 8 hours per week (with potential for up to 15-20 hours a week for a successful tutor). Must be available some weekdays after school and early evenings and one weekend day. (A partial weekend day is okay).
Start Date: Prefer June 2023 but flexible. Duration: A minimum of one year availability is required.
Note: For in-person tutoring sessions, tutors and students are required to have the Covid-19 vaccine.
Masters degree preferred. Minimum of Bachelor's degree.
