The Cathedral School is seeking an experienced Math Teacher to teach an ISEE/SSAT Prep course for students. The position will involve teaching two one-hour blocks of math on Fridays after school from 3:45-5:45. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching middle school students and a deep understanding of the ISEE and SSAT tests.
Responsibilities:
Teach two one-hour blocks of math for eighth graders in the ISEE/SSAT Prep course (3:34-4:45; 4:45-5:45).
Develop and implement a curriculum that covers all necessary mathematics concepts and skills required for the ISEE/SSAT tests (course materials include The Princeton Review SSAT & ISEE book).
Teach test-taking strategies specific to the ISEE/SSAT tests.
Develop and implement effective lesson plans that engage and motivate students.
Create assignments and assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
Collaborate with English Test Prep Teacher to ensure consistency of instruction and student success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field.
Teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with middle school students.
Deep knowledge of the ISEE and SSAT tests, as well as test-taking strategies.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Salary:
Test prep teachers are compensated $165.00 per hour. The total compensation for the ten-week course is $3,300.
