The Intern assists designated department management and staff in performing assigned tasks under direct or general supervision on a temporary basis with fewer than 950 hours worked per calendar year.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the line crews as needed on job sites.

Transports material and tools from trucks to work locations.

Loads and unloads material in the yard onto trucks and trailers.

Works the handline for linemen on poles and in bucket trucks.

Prepares material for installation on overhead and underground lines.

Uses shovels, digging bars and other manual excavating tools to dig holes and trenches.

Washes and fuels crew trucks and other power operated equipment.

Assists warehouse with general stores keeping duties.

Graduating high school senior, high school diploma and enrolled in a college or university or high school diploma and considering a career in the electric utility field.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Employee may be required, on occasion, to drive a personal or company vehicle for company business.
