POSITION PURPOSE:

Charlotte Country Day School, an independent coeducational day school located in Charlotte, NC, is currently recruiting for the following coaching positions: Middle School Field Hockey Head Coach or Assistant Coach. The Middle School has a 7th and 8th Grade team that play in the Fall Season (August – October). This is a part-time, seasonal position beginning Monday, July 31st, 2023, and ending in late October. The daily work schedule will vary slightly according to specific team practice and competition schedules but will generally be focused on a 3-6pm time slot, Monday-Friday. Weekend work is occasionally required.

ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS:

• Instruct players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and technique of the
• Plan and organize tryouts, practices, and games
• Assesses player’s skills, monitors players during competitions and practice, keeps the Field Hockey Program Head informed of the athletics performance of student-athletes.
• Organizes and directs individuals and small group practices/exercises.
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s
• Models’ sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and
• Participates in special activities to include parent’s night and end of season team
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Field Hockey Program Head, Athletic Director, & Head of School or other appropriate administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates must be available for all practices and competitions during the coaching

season. Experience coaching at some level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification.
