NOTE: There are two Teacher Aide positions available - one for 1st grade and one for 2nd grade.

A Teacher Aide provides classroom support for a lead teacher as they guide the class through a lesson by preparing materials, interacting with students and supervising projects. The Teacher Aide also provides student support in the areas of social/emotional growth and development and conflict resolution. Their duties include preparing materials for lesson plans, tutoring students one-on-one or in groups, taking attendance, monitoring student progress, and supporting students emotionally and socially.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teacher Aide overseas students in non-classroom settings like lunch, recess and field trips, and they work in small groups or one-on-one with students in the classroom to reinforce instructional material. Their exact duties can vary widely depending on the particular circumstances, but some common duties and responsibilities include:

• Prepare classroom and instructional materials for lessons.
• Perform record keeping duties associated with the classroom including attendance and assessments.
• Plan and implement curriculum at the request of the lead teacher. 
• Provide support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Assist the teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.
• Support students to feel heard, seen, and engaged in group instruction. 
• Support students with conflict resolution and social-emotional growth and development.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by lead teacher and/or program director and/or head of school. 

Minimum Job Requirements

• Completed AA or BA Degree from an accredited institution. 
• 2 or more years experience working with children (e.g., summer camps, tutoring, babysitting, teaching experience)
