Rider University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) seeks an individual for the part-time position of Cheerleading Coordinator. This position is responsible for the organization, direction, and administration of all aspects of the cheerleading program in accordance with the University, MAAC, NCAA, and USA Cheer (United States Governing Body for cheerleading).
The position will plan and organize all phases of the cheerleading program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, building, recruiting, and maintaining a competitive cheerleading program consistent with University and Department of Athletics policies, practice planning, supporting men’s and women’s basketball at home games and the conference tournament, appearing at certain University and/or Department of Athletics events, social media, fundraising, overseeing the program’s budget and equipment purchases and community outreach. Additionally, the cheerleading coordinator will collaborate with members of the other Rider spirit squads (dance team and pep band) to engage students, alumni, fans, etc. at events for the Department of Athletics.

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of coaching experience. Must also be able to recruit, instruct and motivate college-aged student-athletes. Candidates must be well-organized with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of, and willingness to comply with all NCAA, MAAC, University, and USA Cheer rules and regulations is required. Highly motivated candidates with previous coaching and/or cheering experience are greatly preferred.
