Summary Position The Treating Physical Therapist supports the mission and long-range plan of the Health Outreach Program of Elon (HOPE). The position will be required to improve the health and well-being of the under-served populations in Alamance County, NC and surrounding areas by providing quality physical therapy treatment and fostering student community service and clinical experience.
At least one year of clinical experience as a treating physical therapist required.

General Purpose of Position The part-time Treating Physical Therapist Clinical Education Coordinator is an essential member of the HOPE clinic and partner to the faculty advisor. This position will assist in supervising and providing physical therapy services to uninsured or underinsured individuals in Alamance County and the surrounding area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Supervise Elon University Doctoral of Physical Therapy students in providing care for patients in the pro bono HOPE clinic2. Coordinate patient care with the HOPE student board and faculty advisor3. Guide the student board and faculty advisor in clinic-related decisions4. PRN coverage when volunteer clinicians are out unexpectedly5. Assist with triaging patient, student, and/or clinic emergencies when faculty advisor not available/present6. Promote and advocate for the clinic and our patients within the community, including the annual event, recruiting volunteer clinicians, and appropriate committees7. Communicate frequently with student volunteers and faculty advisor8. Advocate for patient needs including seeking resources in the community for patients
Education and Experience 1. Eligible for physical therapy licensure in North Carolina2. At least one year as a practicing physical therapist 3. Proficient use of dedicated software such as MS Word, Excel, or documentation software4. Active physical therapy license in good standing5. BLS certification
