Department Information
The IUPUI Office of Community Engagement (OCE), Professional Development and Corporate Education (PDCE) unit is responsible and works with businesses and communities to support economic growth and development in the areas of Continuing Education Programs, Custom Training, and Economic Development and Anchor Institution initiatives. The Office of Community Engagement is committed to attracting and retaining staff and students, and developing and growing community partnerships, through an inclusive and equitable growth and development strategies embracing diversity and inclusion.
Job Summary
The Program Manager is integral to many aspects of administration, program planning and management, and communication for campus-wide programs.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Responsible for project, data, client, and event management support for Professional Development and Corporate Education (CEPD) programs.
Responsible for tracking and organizing data and electronic files.
Drafts e-mails, flyers, and newsletter content.
Responds to community request for speakers, transcripts, and general information.
Plans and schedules workshops and school programs.
Sets up Canvas and IU Expand learning sites.
Works with OCE staff to research, gather information, and assist in the development of content and materials to promote programs; submits content for the PDCE newsletter and social media sites; sends out public announcement and respond to questions.
Assists with creation and distribution of marketing materials, flyers, surveys, and e- communication for events and programs.
Coordinates IUPUI Speakers Bureau requests; identifies and introduces speakers to community partners.
Attends and assists with the logistical planning, set up and execution of in-person and virtual events including conferences, classes, workshops; summer camps; and sponsored exhibits and informational events.
Creates evaluation surveys; tracks and reports on attendee responses.
Creates and analyzes Qualtrics surveys, and report on programs.
Gathers and maintains databases and tracking spreadsheets.
Assists with general administrative duties including management of calendars and room reservations; front desk support, marketing schedules; fulfilling information requests from campus and community.
Conducts research and makes recommendations of practices on business and community engagement opportunities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
Associate degree and 1 year professional experience in event planning and customer service
Preferred
Bachelor's degree and 2 years professional experience in event planning, program management, and/or marketing and communication
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered
SKILLS
Required
Strong communication, writing, planning, and organizational skills and experience
Proficient in the use of Microsoft software, databases, calendaring, and web browsers
Self-directed, flexible, and comfortable working autonomously; highly organized and outcome focused
Enjoys research and learning new tasks and software programs.
Preferred
Experience creating and evaluating data using surveys
Knowledge of Canvas
Competency using Excel
