Job Description The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, and research. The Cath Lab/IR Imaging Technologist functions as a member of the team of care providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. Diagnostic and interventional procedures are provided to inpatients, emergency department patients, and outpatients. The Cath Lab/IR team provides outpatient prep and recovery services and care to a primarily adult and geriatric population directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. The Cath Lab/IR outpatient procedure area encompasses 2 procedure rooms. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. The labs are staffed for operation during daytime hours and for extended hours as needed including 24-hour call coverage for emergencies. Call coverage requirements include a 30 minute response time by all call team members.
The Imaging Technologist performs cardiovascular/interventional procedures, patient education and quality assessment activities for the cardiovascular lab, under the direction of the Lead Imaging Technologist, Director of cardiovascular services and the labs interventional attendings. The technologist must also carry out all necessary technical / non-technical tasks associated with invasive procedures and the operation and maintenance of equipment used for such invasive procedures.
Minimum Education Required 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications A.R.R.T. Radiography registered with current ODH licensure. Individual must have completed or is required to complete advanced registry in Angiography/IR/Vascular within 24 months of hire date. Previous interventional radiology experience is preferred.
