Human Development Teacher - Middle School for Girls
Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School for Girls is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Human Development Teacher with an innovative view toward content delivery and skills development. Collaboration among colleagues, creation of powerful learning experiences for a diverse student body, and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of middle school students are critical components. The successful candidate facilitates student learning by building strong interpersonal relationships, setting a positive tone, and treating students as individuals within the context of a broader community.
This part-time member of the Middle School faculty teaches three sections of Human Development (HD) - 6th grade HD, 7th grade HD, and 8th grade HD. A demonstrated commitment to work in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), engagement in social emotional learning (SEL), and experience with extracurricular programs are all beneficial.
Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Health or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
Prior teaching experience is required.
Training in and knowledge of the Michigan Model for Health Education and the National Standards of Health Education is preferred.
Enthusiasm for teaching and working with adolescents and excellent communication skills are expected for all teachers.
