This position is for a Men’s Soccer Graduate Assistantship with additional duties to serve as the Goalkeeper coach for the top-10 ranked Men’s Soccer program at St. Mary’s University. St. Mary’s University Athletics is a NCAA Division II program that has 11 competing men’s and women’s sports as well as varsity Esports and STUNT teams. The Graduate Assistant for Men’s Soccer works under the supervision of the Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Training, developing and recruiting goalkeepers
• Video analysis
• Representing St. Mary’s University with professionalism
• Positive attitude
• Assisting the head coach with the administration and leadership of the Men’s Soccer program
• Recruiting and retaining students for the Men’s Soccer program
• Building social-media content during keeper sessions
• Assisting with team travel
• Game day preparation
• Fundraising
• Helping ensure team compliance with all NCAA and Lone Star Conference rules and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, you must possess:

• Bachelor’s degree GPA 3.0 +
• Previous goalkeeping experience as player or coach
• Previous Soccer coaching experience or knowledge of the game on the collegiate level
• Good organizational skills
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Fundamental computer skills

Demonstrate:

• Positive attitude
• Ability to resolve issues independently

Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, balance, and work at a desk, to include pushing and pulling cabinet drawers. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and respond to visual and aural cues. Must have manual dexterity to be able to operate the following equipment: computer, soccer equipment, and telephone. Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye/and coordination. Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke and an environment with moderate to loud noise levels.

 

Travel Requirements:

Not required to travel with Men’s Soccer team
