Keystone School seeks a passionate and dynamic part-time Lower School Spanish teacher to create and implement a spiraled curriculum for Kindergarten through fourth grade that introduces the language, culture, and customs of the Spanish speaking world.
A successful candidate will have experience working in a lower school environment, an understanding of the developmental needs of young students, and the ability to differentiate their instruction. They will possess the ability to foster a love and appreciation of learning a language and inspire students to learn more about the culture of the Spanish speaking world.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute an engaging curriculum to teach Spanish K-4
Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding student progress
Collaborate with Language Department to ensure curricular alignment
Create a positive learning environment that emphasizes Keystone’s Cobra Code and supports the well-being of students
Assist with extra-curricular activities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or Spanish, with a graduate degree, preferred
At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience and curriculum development
Command of the subject matter and the developmental needs of elementary students.
Proficiency with technology and digital platforms in the classroom
Eagerness to collaborate with colleagues within and across disciplines
Self-motivated and willing to participate in ongoing professional development and independent learning
