Friends School of Baltimore is looking for an Assistant Director of Extended Day for Middle School. This position works closely with the Extended Day leadership to facilitate a safe and engaging afterschool program for Grades 6 to 8.
This is a part time position, 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM, or until the last child has been picked up, Monday – Friday on School Days only.
This position begins in the fall for the 2023-2024 school year.
Education: Must be 18 years of age. High School diploma required. College credit, Bachelor’s Degree, Graduate Classes or Degree a plus.
Experience: Demonstrated experience working with / teaching students in grades PK – 8th grade and managing college students and adults. Child Care or Youth Camp experience a plus.
Grooming and appearance: Friends School seeks to maintain a neat and professional image at all times.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Problem solving skills, capable of dealing with multiple tasks while maintaining composure
A positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be resourceful
Able to work independently without constant supervision, and manage divisional Extended Day Staff.
Understanding of students’ needs and an ability to handle conflicts according to school procedures
Facilitate after school programing for Grades 6 – 8
Assist students with homework
Ensure that rules and safety protocols are being followed
Daily supervision Middle School Extended Day staff
Manage daily attendance of staff and students using the electronic time clock and attendance systems.
