National Presbyterian School, an independent co-educational elementary school (Pre-K 3 to 6th Grade) in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time Long-Term Substitute Drama teacher to work with grades Pre-Kindergarten 4 through 6th grade from late August through mid-October 2023.
The Substitute Drama teacher will have experience implementing drama curriculum for early childhood and elementary age students with a focus on teaching process and creative drama, acting and playwriting. The candidate should possess the skills and enthusiasm necessary to inspire learning and enhance the overall educational experience by fostering students’ academic, ethical, social and emotional development in accordance with the National Presbyterian School mission, philosophy and Core Values.
The Substitute Drama teacher will participate fully in the life of the school. These responsibilities include collaborating with homeroom teachers and specialists, attending full faculty meetings as well as duties related to the supervision of lunch, recess and dismissal.
