Position Summary and Overview
The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join the health team. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for the health and well-being of student athletes through the care and prevention of athletic injuries. This is a part time, 10 month position. Hours will generally be M-F from 2:00-6pm. Hours may vary per game and practice schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate commitment to Churchill’s mission and core values

Deliver on-site athletic training services including in-person coverage for scheduled team practices and home competitions as necessary.
Evaluates injuries and develops treatment and exercise plans within the NYS scope of practice.
Ensure compliance with NYS mandated concussion protocol
Provide protective taping, bracing, preliminary evaluation and referral services to appropriate medical professionals
Perform school professional and coach training in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Concussion Training
Maintain accurate medical records and accident reports
Understanding and adherence to COVID protocols
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have…
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training preferred
Current Athletic Trainer certification from NYS.
Current and good standing BOC certification.
Instructor of First Aid and CPR (Certified Red Cross Instructor) to certify coaches and school professionals.
Must have strong interpersonal communications and human relation skills.
Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate with co-workers, and exercise flexibility
Salary
$30-32 per hour
