accompanying two choruses in several weekly rehearsals, both during the school day (8 am - 3 pm) and after school, including performances throughout the academic year
accompanying school assemblies and community events throughout the school year during the day and after school
accompanying students in recitals during the day and after school
serving as pianist for an annual musical
The ideal candidate will:
hold a Bachelor's or Masters's degree in Piano or Piano Accompanying
have excellent sight-reading skills
demonstrate a strong interest in accompanying choral ensembles
possess competence in anti-racist pedagogy
bring to their work a collegial spirit and a sense of humor.

Salary
$70 - $85 per hour, depending on experience, up to 30 hours per month.

The Brearley School, an independent school for girls, was founded in 1884 to provide its students with a college-preparatory education equal in rigor to that of boys, and, in the words of the mission statement today, to prepare them for “active responsible citizenship in a democratic society.” Within a highly articulated 13-year curriculum, and with a 6:1 student-faculty ratio, teaching methods are varied, flexible and pragmatic, taking into account individual patterns of development and ways of learning.
