Job Description
Boiler Attendant Handyman typically work in facilities like power plants or boiler, engine, and mechanical rooms. They can be responsible for all of the systems that generate heat or electricity in a facility. Some of the equipment that they are responsible for includes:
- Low-pressure boilers
- High-pressure boilers
- Power boilers
- Steam boilers
- Hot water heating systems
Boiler Attendant Handyman will make manual adjustments to this equipment during their servicing. They are often on their feet, but they also have to be physically fit to crawl inside boilers during their inspections.
Boiler Attendant Handyman must perform routine maintenance on the equipment and systems in a facility as part of their job. Keeping safety at the forefront, boiler attendant handyman will watch the system during operation and attend to any additional problems. Once all is in working order, they will record their service data in logs.
Handyman Boiler Attendant:
The multi-skilled handyman is responsible for everything from basic repair and installation tasks to moderate-sized projects such as door, window, flooring, tiling, electrical, plumbing, patch/prep and paint stucco repairs, to include basic roof repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows all safety Company Corporate requirements and procedures at all times while working independently to complete service requests. Performs preventative maintenance checks on all tools and equipment prior to use at beginning and at end of shift. Overall basic knowledge of multiple trades: Carpentry, Tiling, Painting, Patch, Paint, Drywall, Minor Electrical and Flooring.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of basic tools. General preventative handyman maintenance of facilities type projects. Excellent troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand English and follow oral and written instructions. Possess strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team player. Ability to work under pressure and time constraints. Ability to work a flexible schedule if asked by customer including evening and weekend assignments. Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with professionals, contractors and co-workers alike. Must have excellent work ethics and communication skills. Basic computers skills, word, excel and English grammar.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Any lifting in excess of 40 pounds requires the use of a back brace and dolly. Employee must possess sufficient physical strength and ability to perform a variety of handyman tasks related in the performance of essential duties and responsibilities. Employee must be capable of frequently pushing/pulling a custodial type cart up to 100 lbs. on concrete, tile and carpeted floors. The use of other personal protective equipment is required as it applies to working in inside or outside conditions; such as, excessive heat, dust, wind, sun, rain, storms, or any other conditions that require personal safety. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary: $24.00 Per Hour Part-Time/On-Call Position. Non Union, Could lead to Full-Time.
