The Site Coordinator will be based on campus June - August and live in program provided housing in Dublin September - December. From January - May, the Coordinator will return to Elon and work from campus.

General Purpose of Position

The Site Coordinator will be based on campus June - August and live in program provided housing in Dublin September - December. From January - May, the Coordinator will return to Elon and work from campus.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the creation of an in-person pre-departure orientation for EGS students in summer 2023, held on Elons campus in North Carolina, along with a series of other virtual training and orientation sessions that take place prior to students arrival in Ireland.

Assists in the onsite orientation of students, along with the provider organization, with a focus on academics, health and safety, and policies and procedures.
Lives in the same building as EGS students and serves as a university staff member in support of the immersive academic and residential experience.
Provides 24-7 emergency support, in coordination with on-site provider.
Leads EGS participants in their use of resources offered by EGS partner institutions and Elon resources to support retention efforts for the program.
Meets weekly with the Elon faculty member to foster relationship and communication
Holds one-on-one meetings, group meetings, and weekly office hours with EGS participants to support retention efforts surrounding ongoing academic, social, and personal success.
Attends weekly meetings with EGS liaisons at abroad institutions and receives updates from EGS professors on the academic progress of program participants.
Instigates continuous professionally appropriate communication among all program constituents including EGS participants, their parents and family, faculty and staff, and the onsite staff hired through the program provider.
Communicates with EGS parents, faculty, staff, and other key constituents as needed.
Plans and coordinates cultural and academic excursions with EGS participants specific to the location abroad, in coordination with Elon faculty, the onsite provider, and host university.
Supports EGS participants in their understanding of the traditions, customs, and norms of the country, city, and community in which they live.

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree required and preferred experience working with undergraduate students while abroad
