Description: If you are interested in serving as a Program Coordinator for Pratt's summer PreCollege program supporting high school juniors and seniors in a residential/commuter program we want to hear from you! Do you have experience in carrying out daily operational tasks, overseeing, maintaining, and coordinating high school educational programs, alongside a collaborative team of staff members and student employees? Have you worked within the art, design or architectural fields with high school age students? Do you have experience in scheduling events, assisting in the budget process, making data-driven decisions, and have excellent interpersonal skills? We at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, invite you to apply.
Three part-time temporary Program Coordinator positions are available. The candidates chosen will work part-time hours (20 hours/week) May 1- June 16, 2023, adjusting to a full-time schedule (35 hours/week) June 19 - August 4, 2023, including evening and weekend hours just prior and throughout the duration of the program (July 9 - August 2, 2023). The positions will be entirely onsite on Pratt's Brooklyn campus.
On a typical day you will:
Assist with all student and parent inquiries including basic advisement
Assist with the student registration process and other challenges related to onboarding new students
Provide support for instructors before, during, and after the start of their courses
Work in our registration systems and other technological tools that support student courses and events
Run reports and provide data points to program directors as needed
Work closely with both the programming team and the operations team to ensure smooth operation of programs and support the implementation of policies and practices
Work with a team of Pratt undergraduate student employees that serve as mentors and office staff
Collaborate with other Pratt departments to support efficient delivery of programs and events.
Salary Range is $28-$30 per hour depending on experience.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree completed or in process preferably in art, design or related disciplines.
Experience: Working with high school students in an educational environment. PreCollege/Summer Scholar experience, Familiarity with Brooklyn/New York City.

Strong analytical skills and great problem-solving logic that leads to creative solution.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Crisis and conflict management skills.
Tech savvy with demonstrated proficiency with: Google Suite and MS Office. applications including PowerPoint, Office, and Excel; social media platforms, internal and external technology systems within the Institute.
Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams.
Self-motivated with the ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision
Demonstrated level of cultural competence and sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, gender identity, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the students we serve and sensitivity to and knowledge and understanding of groups historically underrepresented, and groups who may have experienced discrimination.
