Saint David’s School seeks an ice hockey coach to begin October 23, 2023. Work hours are Mondays 3:30-5:30 and various weekends. Saint David’s is an independent elementary school for boys, located in Manhattan. Founded in the Catholic tradition, the school welcomes everyone.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality coaching sessions for ages 5-8, from beginner to advanced levels
Work closely with the Director of Hockey to develop and implement training programs that align with our team's overall strategy
Evaluate players' strengths and weaknesses and provide feedback to help them improve their skills and performance
Create a positive and supportive team environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship
Attend all team practices, games, and events as required
Build strong relationships with players, parents, and other coaches to create a positive culture and foster a love for the game
Ensure that all safety guidelines and protocols are followed during training sessions and games
Qualifications and Preferences:
A valid coaching certification from USA Hockey
A deep understanding of the game of hockey, including its rules, strategies, and tactics
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate team practices and games
The pay for this position ranges from $125-$150 per day, based on experience.
