The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) has been the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus for more than 100 years. Every day thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests enjoy the many amenities and opportunities the IMU has to offer.
Job Summary
The Indiana Memorial Union Facilities team is responsible for maintaining, fixing, and applying preventative work all across the nearly 500,000 square feet of this IU icon.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Keeps building and facilities in clean and orderly condition.
Performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing refuse.
Performs routine light maintenance activities, notifies management of need of repairs.
Services, supplies and cleans restrooms. Collects recyclables.
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures. Moves and relocates furniture. Replaces lightbulbs. Mixes water & detergent or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Keeps custodial supply closet orderly and stocked with adequate chemicals, equipment, and toiletries. Locks and unlocks building. Maintains awareness of building and facilities. Identifies and reports needed repairs.

Working Conditions / Demands
This Position requires the ability to move about the workplace and the ability to move up to 50 pounds multiple times throughout the shift.

Bloomington, Indiana
Work Hours
Shift/Days varies. Depending on the shift you would like to apply for:
1st shift: 5am to 1:30pm
Evening shift: 3:30pm to 12am.
Some afternoon hours might be available. (Management reserves the right to adjust work hours as needed.)
This is a part-time position averaging 29 hours per week. Will include weekends.
