Supports the Facility and Security Manager and Guest Services Coordinator in building access management, opening and closing the museum.Â Serves as the weekend and/or weekday onsite Coordinator when the Facility and Security Manager and the Coordinator of Guest Services are not present.Â Also addresses any facilities and securities issues that arise when they are at the Smart and ensures security procedures are followed when opening and closing the museum and galleries.
Welcomes Smart Museum guests and ensure compliance with Smart Museum visitor protocols including protection of art objects while they visit the Museum and its exhibitions.Â This includes welcoming and checking in guests at the welcome desk and serving as Front Desk or Gallery Attendant.
Works with colleagues across the Museum to support ongoing operations including support for operations and facilities, development, public practice, registration, academic engagement.
Attends Smart Staff meetings and participates on Museum committees.
Provides support for the development and deployment of productions and programs.
May act as a liaison with the community. Presents information about programs and the theatre to the public.
Performs other related work as needed.
Working in public facing customer service roles.
Experience with the arts, museums, or other cultural institutions.
Prior experience in security and/or customer service.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of MS Word.
Excellent verbal communications skills and strong written and bilingual communications skills.Â
Extended periods of stationary work.
Moving around the museum to attend to visitors' and colleagues' needs.
Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Working weekend shifts when exhibitions are open.
