The Elementary Aftercare program provides a unique and interesting afternoon for our children at the end of the school day. In this comforting setting, children spend time playing with friends, doing special projects and completing homework. Our aim is to create a “home-away-from-home” atmosphere.

There is also time for children to hang out and chat with friends, catching each other up on the day’s events. A healthy snack is served daily. Special activities are a part of aftercare as well. We believe the constellation of relative strengths and weaknesses among any group of students can differ widely; teachers decide when and how to offer extra help, when and where to augment a task to provide extra challenge, and when and why to take a step back to allow a child to process information. Social development is an integral part of a child’s maturation. Teachers help children learn how to work together cooperatively and effectively.
