The Dalton School, a K-12 independent, coeducational school located in Manhattan, is consistently recognized as one of the top independent day schools in the nation. It has a total enrollment of about 1,300 students and a faculty and staff of approximately 350.
The Dalton School’s Athletics Department seeks a part-time Certified Athletic Trainer beginning February 2023.
As an active member of the Athletic Department, the Athletic Trainer must adhere to the values and ethics of the Dalton School. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and abide by NATA standards and will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer and the Director of Athletics and Physical Education. The Athletic Trainer must be available to work during the school day as well as weekend games and later evenings as needed.
Responsibilities:
Serve as an on-site athletic trainer for athletic contests and practices at all locations
Administer prevention and care to all Dalton athletes
Maintain accurate medical records and accident reports
Communicate daily with the head athletic trainer, coaches, and athletic administration
Work with the head athletic trainer in reviewing medical and sports participation forms
Teach high school and middle school physical education classes as needed
Perform additional duties as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training preferred
BOC Certification
Experience as an athletic trainer preferred
Must be available from approximately 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM with the possibility of weekend games and later evenings as needed
Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, and a flexible schedule.
