The Custodial Services department prepares our laboratories, classrooms and indoor spaces for the rigors of research and teaching at the highest level. Our goal is to provide quality, consistent services that are responsive to our customers' diverse needs.
JOB SUMMARY
Under supervision, perform cleaning, housekeeping and general custodial duties of buildings and other types of facilities, including exterior areas, working independently or as part of a team and ensures building security.

This position is subject to medical surveillance procedures and review in accordance with Federal and State Laws and regulations and University Policy.
Work alone in buildings; in isolated areas; travel from building to building at night; and /or in a building with heavy traffic.
Work in areas where hazardous materials are present.
Work variable shifts: days/hours (weekends, holidays, overtime, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Experience with cleaning solvents, soaps, waxes and other related chemicals used in custodial work.
Knowledge of standard safety precautions and rules used in custodial work.
Knowledge of basic materials and equipment used in custodial work. Valid CA driver's license.
Preferred:
Customer service skills.
Skills to determine tools and equipment needed to perform custodial work.
Custodial experience.
Knowledge to follow all health and safety procedures/protocols.
Skill to practice all security procedures related to unlocking, locking and securing of buildings and keys.

Background Check
This position is a critical position and subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity checks. This position requires a Pre-Employment Physical.
