Job Description:The Nursing division at the Medical Education Campus of NOVA is seeking qualified adjuncts to serve as Clinical Instructors. Clinical Instructors will be primarily responsible for supervising students in clinical sites located throughout the Northern Virginia area..NOVA faculty may be assigned to any campus based upon enrollment and staffing needs. This recruitment is being filled, contingent upon availability of funds. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face to face, remote, and online. Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session.Duties and Tasks:Provides clinical instruction and demonstration of nursing skills and procedures to students.- Observes, evaluates and provides feedback to studentsâ™ return demonstration, and skills and procedures.Assigns patients to student care based on the clinical objectives of that particular session.EEvaluates and assesses student competencies.Plans, reviews and corrects studentsâ™ clinical assignmentsPlans and conducts student conferencesAttends scheduled orientation sessions.Essential Functions: As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.
