Seeking an experienced candidate, highly organized and motivated, who can work independently in a remote working environment, to support the Executive Director of this 501(c)6 trade association. Experience in membership relations (especially recruitment/retention), marketing, and social media, is highly desired for this position.
Candidate must be outgoing, articulate, a strong communicator, and detail oriented due to a high level of interaction with association members, sponsors, speakers, media representatives, etc. Candidate will report to the Executive Director and serve association members, prospective members, local homeowners, board members, and national staff of the association.
A proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with all social media platforms as well as online communication and design platforms is required. A set schedule for office hours will be negotiated based on candidate’s availability for 20-hours per week. The ability to work on-location one evening a month (typically the 2nd Tuesday, January - October) between the hours of 4:00pm – 8:00pm is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Answer and respond to incoming calls and e-mails at the Chapter’s established phone number and email addresses.
Maintain regular office hours to be negotiated upon hiring, excluding Federal and predetermined holidays.
Maintain a secure and permanent remote working location.
Maintain electronic records in an orderly fashion and consistent with standard operating practice on the NARI Atlanta SharePoint site.
Maintain and enhance the Association’s public image, including but not limited to, using the internet/social media in a productive and responsible manner.
Attend committee meetings as required.
Attend Board of Directors meetings upon request.
Participate, support, and serve onsite during NARI Atlanta’s established events – NARI Nights monthly meetings, The Cutting Edge, Annual Brew Bash, Golf Tournament, and CotY Awards. (Some “after hours” commitment will be required.)
Attend the annual Chapter Leader’s Summer Session with the Executive Director and when appropriate, attend other NARI National meetings. (NARI Atlanta will pay travel expenses in accordance with the Travel Policy on such occasions.)
Support for Committees
Issue meeting notifications on behalf of and in coordination with Committee Chairpersons.
Attend Committee meetings and take minutes.
Disseminate communications from the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors to Committees.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of Committee Chair reports for Board meetings.
Assist Committee Chairpersons and/or Committee Members with activities and initiatives.
Member and Non-Member Communication
Send membership renewal notifications and reminders via electronic and paper mail, following a regular schedule.
Maintain contact information and other membership information on the website/online database.
Offer assistance and provide timely referrals to members and/or consumers seeking NARI members.
Provide timely and accurate membership recruitment/retention information to the Membership Committee.
Verify and facilitate membership applications and payments in a timely manner.
Contact prospective members received from NARI National in a timely manner.
Process background checks on all new member applications, in preparation for the monthly Board meeting.
Send welcome emails to newly approved members and provide member contact information for inclusion in the monthly e-newsletter.
Prepare New Member list for submission to the NARI National dues portal (in coordination with the Executive Director).
Follow up with prospective members who attend monthly networking meetings as guests, in coordination with the Membership Committee.
Send renewal thank you emails to renewing members on a regular schedule.
NARI Member Logo usage:
Search dropped members’ websites/social media and follow up as necessary.
Search new members’ websites/social media and follow up as necessary.
The candidate should be highly organized, detail oriented, articulate, able to work independently, and possess good people skills and phone and email etiquette.
Experience with QuickBooks Online, Constant Contact (or similar email platform), online-based association management software (Novi is preferred), Canva, Survey Monkey, Zoom, Hootsuite, Weebly, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, YouTube, Twitter, Houzz, Pinterest, etc. is essential to the position. The programs, platforms, and software listed here are used daily in chapter operations.

Its members are residential and/or general contractors, designers, and manufacturers, vendors, suppliers, and service providers of the local remodeling/construction industry. The association provides networking, business development, social, and educational opportunities to members and non-members and seeks to increase awareness of the association among industry professionals and homeowners.
