With the addition of the $70 million Midco Arena, Augustana Athletics is launching the first collegiate hockey program in South Dakota in 2023 and it will also be the first athletics program to compete at Division I that calls Sioux Falls home. Currently with 21 NCAA Division II sports programs, Augustana Athletics is focused on building champions in the classroom, in competition and in the community, highlighted by three team national championships since 2016. Viking Athletics finished #7 nationally in the Division II Learfield Director’s Cup in 2021-22 and also won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All Sports Award.
Women’s Soccer Graduate Assistant
Augustana University (SD) is seeking qualified applicants for a Women’s Soccer Graduate Assistant position, a 10-month appointment, averaging 29 hours per week, within our Athletics department. This position includes a salary of $10.80 per hour, significant tuition assistance, and a limited meal plan (all taxable benefits).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist Head Coach in all day to day operations of the sport program
Coordinate student athlete activities including but not limited to recruiting, conditioning, and academic services as needed and designated by the Head Coach
Adhere to all NCAA and Conference affiliated bylaws set forth by the governing bodies
Understand and adhere to the Augustana Athletic Department Manual that outlines general staff conduct
Run all social media platforms with appropriate athletic dept staff within brand guidelines
Run/Design/Designate specialty promo nights with appropriate athletic dept. staff
Run/Organize Camps/Clinics
On the court training
Scouting
Recruiting - on the road, keeping database up to date,
Maintaining hallway display board
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Ability to gain entrance into Augustana University Graduate Program
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred former student-athlete
Preferred acceptance into an Augustana graduate studies program
Social media experience
