The Department of Athletics of the California State University Maritime Academy is accepting applications for a part-time Crew Coach. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead in all aspects of an intercollegiate Crew program competing as a member of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA). Responsibilities include recruiting, all phases of preparation for competition, including conducting practices, program development, and establishment of a strong academic support environment.
One-year successful crew coaching experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid license to drive in the State of California.
US Rowing mentoring program level 1 or above certificate
Bachelor's Degree preferred
CPR & First Aid Certification preferred
SALARY COMPENSATION: Salary is commensurate with the education, qualifications, and experience of the individual.
The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
This position is a “designated position” in the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
This position requires a valid California driver's license to enable the driving of Cal Maritime vehicles and tools which include but are not limited to outboard motors, hand tools, truck towing, power tools, diesel engines, and crew carts. The incumbent will be required to travel to other geographic locations and work some evenings and weekends.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
On the job, the employee is: exposed to excessive noise; around moving machinery; Is exposed to marked changes in temperature and/or humidity; Is exposed to dust, fumes, gases, radiation, microwave (circle); and drives motorized equipment
The role requires regularly working outdoors and routinely exposed to the sun. The position may be exposed to extreme heat or cold and rain, in addition to working on uneven, slippery surfaces.
Typical classroom and office environment are in a two-story building with elevator access.
