Position description The Department of Surgery and Division of Surgical Sciences (https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/surgery/divisions/Sciences/) at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body.
We are seeking non-clinician faculty to join a highly interdisciplinary programmatic effort within UC San Diego's Department of Surgery, dedicated to advancing the detection and treatment of surgical diseases.
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for research and providing high quality training and teaching of undergraduate, graduate and residents. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to participate in university service.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have a MD, PhD, DVM, other related doctoral degree, or other related terminal degree, in Biological Sciences or related areas.
Preferred qualifications Candidates with an established, independent and vigorous extramurally-funded research program focusing on basic and/or translational studies of immunobiology are preferred. Application Requirements
