Brown University Athletics is seeking applicants for a part-time Equipment Room Specialist. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1). Â Â
This seasonal position (August - May) will provide care, laundering and accurate inventory for all athletic equipment and uniforms during off-peak hours. Position will be required to work nights and weekends. This role will assist the Equipment Room team to service and satisfy the athletic equipment and apparel needs of varsity student-athletes, and Equipment Room operations. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with inventory control system to log and track issued equipment
Assist with all inventory tracking as supplies are received;
Receiving, stocking and ensuring accurate inventory of all shipments
Assist in tracking of inventory, distributing, collecting, maintaining, fitting, laundering, and repairing athletic equipment
Ensure that all protective equipment meets the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) specifications.

Education
Associateâ™s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications
Effective written & oral communication skills
Hand coordination to repair equipment
Experience with inventory control
Computer knowledge helpful
Valid driverâ™s license with experience driving a cargo van.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including some travel
Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to compliance with, NCAA, ECAC, Ivy and University rules and regulations in regard to operations.
Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
